6 October, 1915. Farewells to Soldiers

Mum's Uncle Ted was farewelled by family and friends,
after his departure on board HMAT Beltana a month later,
he would never see them again ...

FAREWELLS TO SOLDIERS

Private Edward Bridgement, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Bridgement, William Street, was ac-
corded an enthusiastic send-off on Wednesday
night, the function taking place at Flood's Hall,
Redfern, when about 80 relatives and friends
assembled to honor the departing soldier.
Dancing, interspersed with singing, served to
pleasantly pass the time away. During the
supper, several presentations were made, and
the health of the guest was enthusiastically
honored.
